Welcome to The Online Photography Testing Center.

The TOP TC has been compiled over several years of research and contributions from a wide variety of generous photographers from many backgrounds. With the larger community involved in its creation, it seems only fitting that the entire testing center be an open-sourced venue for people to come and test their knowledge and skills regarding photography and photographic theory. TOP TC relies on the honor system for people when taking the exams. In order to really get accurate results, it is best to not use other resources when answering questions anyway. Using external links, books, and other materials to answer questions will only provide inaccurate measures of your skill level and knowledge base.

TOP TC is broken down into 3 categorical tests: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced. Your goal should be to attain a 75% or higher in every category. If you aren't there yet, don't worry, many others aren't either. Simply research the answers, come back and re-test in a week or two. You'd be surprised how much you can learn in a week!

Just like any standardized test, you can use a basic calculator, a pencil, and a piece of paper if needed to jot things down or to help jog your memory. Good luck!
