Well, it’s been a log week folks, and since I’ve put a bit of time into various projects this week, I am feeling somewhat sleep-deprived, so not much will happen today, except to say that my Friday post will be delayed for another 12 hours or so.  Tomorrow is the anniversary (made it 5 years and she still loves me!), and we’ll be doing some stuff with our neighbors.  So…I should have some time tomorrow morning to share some Friday fun with you (only on Saturday).  Just to give you a hint, the theme is “Friday Freebies!  So, if you want to save some money, or are just interested in seeing economical alternatives, then make sure to tune in for a Saturday morning post with the freebie fun!

About 5 days left to chime in on the camera quantity poll, so don’t forget to vote.  I’d also be interested in seeing how people have been doing with the Online Photography Test   Care to share your scores, ideas, and suggestions for improving and/or expanding on this?  E-mail me or post to the blog.  So, until tomorrow – if you’re going out, be sure to take your cameras.  Happy shooting and watch those apertures! 🙂

  1. Okay, I think the scripting issue has been fixed. See if it errors out again, and as for the pics – working on that as I type! 🙂

  2. Hmmm…I think something is wrong with the Javascript. I’ll have to look at that to see what’s causing it. Not sure how long that will take as the script is one I mirrored off another site.

I like the idea of adding technically correct/incorrect exposures for people to use as a way of benchmarking their critique skills… excellent idea!

  3. I got a 20 but am suspicious of the results. Like Mark, many questions gave me the “You’ve already answered” response. Good test though. Thanks!

  4. Got 18 out of 20. There do seem to be a couple of errors in the last few questions – they said I had already answered the question before I had done so.

One question about reducing camera shake should be changed as ISO is possibly as good an option as a tripod – particularly in sports and some other kinds of photography.

Either way, I certainly like scoring quite highly – at least I have most of the technical stuff sorted, now I just need to score highly on competition entries!

Maybe an extra couple of questions would include giving a good or bad tick to pictures that are technically correct/incorrect? Such as under/over exposure, using rule of thirds, camera shake etc. If people are able to pick these technical errors out in pictures, it would prompt them to also be critical, technically, of their own pictures. I would avoid non-technical evaluation but would prompt a LOT of discussion 🙂

    Cheers, Mark.
