(No pun intended) Windows are an easy way to frame a shot. I always think of the painter Thomas McKnight when I am composing a photograph through a window.

Hi Maria,

Cute photos, thanks for sharing the links. The reason why you couldn’t embed them in the comments though has to do with your privacy settings on Flickr. The direct address of just the photo needs to be viewable (meaning your photos are shared publicly). This is also one of the contest guidelines, so if you’ve been submitting images to the contests, they likely have not been winners because they are not accessible. To make images accessible (or to link to them directly in other venues), I have put together a set of instructions right here on the contest page. Also note your privacy settings on Flickr:

http://www.flickr.com/account/prefs/downloads/?from=privacy

If you have this set to “Only You”, you cannot share them here because the plugin needs the source URL… a source URL on Flickr looks something like this:

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4045/4367548042_4a912ba907_o.jpg

See that “farm5.static” part? That means this is the static (or unchanging) direct web address of just the image, which is what the plugin needs…inserting that address between the img tags will share an image from Flickr in the comments, as shown:

Nice Jason. If I’m not mistaken the “Fresh Produce” window is up at Pearl Street mall in Boulder CO. Would be a fun photowalk in the summer… Anyway, looking at my own images, I’ve found I have themes of railroad tracks/trains and metal in a bunch of images, even as backdrops for model shots. Thanks for the series.
