Photo Contest – Win Adobe Lightroom
May 9, 2009 2 CommentsHappy Saturday all. It’s a rare weekend post here – since Friday was silent. Two things – first off, Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers out there! Second, as the podcast on Tuesday announced, don’t forget the first ever Learning Digital Photography Contest is under way – all during the month of May, submit your shots to the Flickr group (2 entries per person) for your chance to win a copy of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2.0! Not only is it a great chance to win this wonderful program, but a great way to get increased visibility of your work and to network with others.
Information is available in the podcast, but you are welcome to just submit your entries directly to the Flickr group. This is a prize package worth $300 retail, so definitely one worth entering! Good luck and happy shooting!

Hello and welcome to Canon Blogger. So, what is this place really all about? So glad you asked! Canon Blogger is all about sharing. Sharing insights and experience from a photographer, blogger, an IT Professional for nearly ten years now, and most importantly, an educator! My name is Jason Anderson and I am the host of CB. I have been working with photography in various capacities for about seven years now.
[...] Canon Blogger is running a contest for a chance to win a free copy of Lightroom 2. The rules sound really simple – download the trial version of Lightroom, edit any photos taken in May, and select two to post to the Flickr page. The blog is full of useful information anyway, so I encourage everyone to check it out, even if you aren’t interested in winning a free copy of Lightroom. For example, have a look at Say Cheese?, today’s post with 10 excellent tips about taking portraits. [...]
I have what I believe to be an exceptional photo of a Cheetah. It is a close face shot. I took it with my 40 D and a 70-200L 2.8 with a 2X extender. I was about 10 yards from the animal. ISO 200 f4. face in perfect focus. Shot was taken last month in Botswana.
I am not looking to ‘market’ photo, I am strictly an amateur. I do think it would be a shot canon could use in the Nat’l Geo add. I don’t want to enter the Nat’l Geo contest — I don’t like what I have to give up to do so.
Any ideas on how I might proceed?
