Additions to the TOP Test!

Now at 23 questions, it requires more right answers to get a 90% or better. Do you remember your score from last time? Stop in again and see if you can improve! Hello and welcome to Canon Blogger. So, what is this place really all about? So glad you asked! Canon Blogger is all about sharing. Sharing insights and experience from a photographer, blogger, an IT Professional for nearly ten years now, and most importantly, an educator! My name is Jason Anderson and I am the host of CB. I have been working with photography in various capacities for about seven years now.
The test is fun, but I have a few remarks:
1) “Aperture” and “Shutter Speed” are very ambigious when it comes to “bigger/higher”. Aperture refers to the lens opening, shutter speed to the inverse of the amount of time that the shutter is open. High shutter speed = short shutter time, and reverse.
So, shouldn’t the answer to question (2) be “A – as the aperture increases, so does the shutter speed”? – A wider lens opening means a shorter shutter time (for the same exposure) hence a higher shutter speed. Of course, if you’re stricly looking at the NUMBERS it’s a different story. The question doesn’t make clear which one you mean. And it’s frustrating to know the concept but get the answer wrong on semantics!
2) I couldn’t answer questions 21-23. “You’ve already answered that!”. Missing 3 questions out of 23 seriously hurts your score…
I’ve had several people write in about the wording of that particular question and I’ve gone through several edits. I think I have a better set of verbiage worked out now that doesn’t “give away the farm” so to speak and makes things clearer.
On the last 3 questions – that is some javascripting that I “thought” I had fixed. I will re-visit again when I get a chance. in the interim, I would say it’s fair to discount those three (so just divide the # right by the total # of 20) to get your percent.
